FREMONT – The Fremont Area Chamber of Commerce’s Agricultural Business and Natural Resources Council has announced their three honorees for their Excellence in Agriculture Awards Luncheon.
Each year the Chamber honors two businesses and a Fremont family for their commitment and promotion to the city’s agriculture. The three awards this year are the 2018 Ag Business of the Year, 2018 Ag Innovator of the Year, and the 2018 Farm Family of the Year.
Hope Pierce is the Director of Communications and Marketing with the Chamber, and she says this year they are excited to present Butler Ag Equipment with the Ag Business of the Year award.
“We are honored to present that to Butler Ag Equipment. Tad Dinkins, who is the Plant Manager out there, is on our Board of Directors and also the Chair of our Ag Council,” said Pierce. “He is one of our most involved board members. So we’re happy and pleased to be able to present that to him.”
Soil Analytics will be receiving the 2018 Ag Innovator of the Year Award, and Pierce says they’re eager to present a well-known area resident and his family with the Family of the Year award.
“Our Farm Family of the Year Award is actually one of the Chamber’s longest-standing awards,” explained Pierce. “We are excited to award that to Scott Wagner and his family. It’s just for their work within the community and all of their involvement in agriculture.”
The luncheon will be on National Ag Day, March 20th, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Fremont Golf Club. The keynote speaker will be Matt Kreifels, Associate Professor of Practice at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and State Director of the Nebraska Department of Agricultural Education.
