FREMONT – As we honor our servicemen and women this Veterans day, the Wreaths Across America association wants to remind people that recognition and remembrance need not end after today.
Each December, on National Wreaths Across America Day, WAA carries out their mission to Remember, Honor and Teach through by simultaneous wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery and more than 1,400 locations in all 50 U.S. states, as well as at sea and abroad. Two such locations are in Fremont, at Ridge Cemetery and Memorial Cemetery.
The Fremont Cadet Squadron wants to place a wreath on every veterans grave this coming Wreaths Across America Day, December 14th. To do that, they’re counting on the public to sponsor these wreaths. Upon sponsorship, a wreath is hand-crafted in the
USA, and sent to the Fremont Cadet Squadron, where a volunteer will place it on the grave of a fallen hero. “The veteran’s name will be said upon placement of the wreath,” according to the Fremont Cadet Squadron, “to ensure that their legacy of duty, service, and sacrifice is never forgotten.”
Each wreath is a $15 donation.
To sponsor a wreath for a Fremont veteran’s grave, you can contact Wreaths Across America at 1-877-385-9504, or visit their website at https://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org
