Fremont Aviation, Volunteer Pilots Recognized for Flood Efforts at Special Ceremony

FREMONT – A special ceremony was held at the Fremont Airport terminal in recognition of the aviation companies and independent pilots that provided indispensable assistance and relief during the March flooding.

Senator Deb Fischer spoke at the ceremony, thanking the pilots and congratulating Fremont Aviation and other businesses on a job well done.

Mayor Scott Getzschman also specifically recognized Fremont Aviation for their tireless efforts to coordinate flights in and out of Fremont. More than 500 people were transported in and out of Fremont, with planes stacked up on the runway 18 deep at times. The coordination efforts of the airport staff made it possible for pilots to bringĀ in emergency workers, doctors, nurses – and of course, thousands of pounds of supplies.
