FREMONT – The Fremont Area Chamber of Commerce has released its periodic report on economic conditions in Fremont and Dodge County at large, and the figures appear to be nearly on par with 2018 conditions across the board.
Some growth was shown in the retail sales environment, with sales climbing over $20,000 dollars in Dodge county, excluding Fremont, compared to 2018. In Fremont alone, retail sales grew by over $1.4 million dollars over 2018. The average home sale price also grew by just over $7,000 average, per transaction.
Unemployment rates remain largely flat to 2018’s figures, with just 2.9% unemployment in both Fremont and the greater Dodge county area. The Dodge county labor force itself has grown by 254 people over last year, with Fremont’s labor force growing by 183 in addition. The general, net population of Dodge county decreased by 3 people when comparing 2019 to 2018, and Fremont’s population also decreased by 43.
The report also provides the most recent high school graduation rate for Nebraska, showing 89.1% of Nebraska students graduating. Nebraska is ranked 8th in top states for business, 6th for education climate and 9th for quality of life.
