FREMONT – The Fremont Area Chamber of Commerce has released its periodic report on economic conditions in Fremont and Dodge County at large, and the numbers in most categories seem to be trending upwards.
Fremont’s retail sales grew by over $1.3 million compared to 2019. In Dodge County, lodging tax collections rose by $7,218. However, the average home sale price dropped by $20,516 compared to 2019.
Unemployment rates fell slightly to 2.7% and the Dodge County area remained flat at 2.6% over the last year. The Dodge County labor force grew by 950 people while the Nebraska labor force rose by 1,853. The net population of Dodge County and Fremont remained the same with 36,794 and 26,509, respectively.
The report also provides the most recent high school graduation rate for Nebraska, showing 89.1% of Nebraska students graduating. Nebraska is ranked 8th in top states for business, 6th for education climate and 9th for quality of life.
