FPD Responds to Possible Burglary in Progress; Resident Arrested for Possession

FREMONT – In addition to several driving violations, the Fremont Police department responded to a handful of calls on Saturday.

Around 6:00AM, police responded to a potential burglary in progress. Joshua E. Johnson, 40, called from his residence in the 1300 block of Maplewood Drive.  Johnson believed he heard an intruder in his home, and police were dispatched immediately.  Responding officers did not find any signs of forced entry, but during their search, police did locate various controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.

As a result, Johnson was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.  Brittanie L. Bittick, 25, of Bellevue, who was staying at the residence, was also arrested on suspicion of possession of Methamphetamine, Alprazolam, Clonazepam, marijuana less than one ounce and drug paraphernalia.

Later on Saturday, around 4:00PM, police responded to a business in the 500 block of Main street after a patron of the business became disorderly. Donald L. McElroy, 31, of Mariposa, CA was accused of hitting an employee of the business.

When police responded, McElroy then began fighting with officers attempting to put him into custody. He was arrested on suspicion of 3rd Degree Assault, Disturbing the Peace, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest and Obstructing a Police Officer.
