FREMONT – Two Fremonters reported damage to their vehicles yesterday, one in a hit-and-run and the other in a smash and grab theft.
Police responded around 10:30AM to a reported hit and run property damage accident in the 1800 block of north Park Avenue. The victim reported her 2014 Lincoln MKS sedan was parked on the street in front of her residence when it was struck by a 2nd vehicle. The driver of the 2nd vehicle left the scene without leaving any contact information. The actual collision had to have occurred sometime between 10:00PM on Sunday 11/11/2018 and 5:00AM on Monday 11/12/2018. Damage to the victim’s car is estimated at $950.00.
It’s the Law: If you hit a parked or otherwise unattended vehicle or piece of personal property – you must locate the owner or find a way to leave your contact information.
Later on, around 6:00PM, a theft was reported at a business in the 1000 block of east 23rd Street. The victim reported that his vehicle was parked, unoccupied outside of the business and an unknown person broke out the passenger side window and stole an Alpine brand aftermarket stereo valued at $300.00. The damage to the window is estimated at $200.00.
