FREMONT – The Fremont Police issued a handful of citations for speeding, barking dogs, and driving violations this weekend, but two more serious incidents did result in a pair of arrests.
One Fremont resident received a shock when they discovered a partially naked stranger in their backyard on Saturday morning around 11AM. Police were called to a home in the 300 block of north Maple street and discovered Ross R. Mann, 38, of Fremont naked below the waist and behaving in the erratic manner of someone who was under the influence of some type of intoxicant. Police placed Mann under arrest, and he will face charges of disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.
Sunday passed with a few minor incidents, until just after midnight in the overnight Sunday-Monday hours, when police were called to the 300 block of east 8th street where a resident had caught a man in the act of breaking into vehicles on their block. This witness caught Joseph D. Brainard, 33, of Fremont in the act and called police. Brainard attempted to flee the area but was eventually detained and arrested. As of this time nothing has been reported stolen from any vehicles, but Brainard will face charges of disorderly conduct.
