FPD Investigating Two Vehicle Damage Complaints

FREMONT – The Fremont Police received two vehicle damage reports yesterday, with one victim reporting a simultaneous theft.

Around 1:30PM on Wednesday afternoon, police were called to a residence just off west 23rd street to investigate a damage to property complaint.  The victim reported his vehicle was parked on the street when someone punctured three of the vehicle’s tires and broke out the back window.  The vandalism is believed to have occurred sometime between 6:00PM on Wednesday and 1:15PM on Thursday.  Damage is estimated at $700.00.

Later Wednesday, around 8:35PM, police were called out to the Johnson Lake recreation area to investigate another vehicle damage report, this one with an accompanying theft. The victim reported that between 8:00PM and 8:30PM, she was walking around the lake.  During that time, someone broke out the driver’s side window of her parked vehicle and stole her purse.  Damage to the window is estimated at $300.00.  In addition to personal items & identification and cards, the purse also contained $20.00 cash.
