FPD Arrests Two on Domestic Violence Charges

FREMONT – Fremont Police responded to two separate domestic assault complaints that resulted in the arrest of both assailants this weekend.

On Friday 08/09/2019 at approximately 5:35PM, police were dispatched to an address in the 400 block of south Nye Avenue in response to an assault complaint. Juan Edgar Ortiz, 23, of Fremont is accused of slapping an acquaintance during an altercation, causing minor injuries to the victim. Ortiz was arrested, and will face charges of 3rd Degree Domestic Assault.

On Sunday 08/11/2019 at approximately 1:40AM, Alondra Rafaela-Hernandez, 30, of Fremont was arrested on suspicion of Strangulation, 3rd Degree Domestic Assault and Child Abuse following a disturbance at a residence in the 1600 block of north Garfield Street.  She is accused of grabbing an acquaintance by the neck and then striking the acquaintance, inflicting minor injury that did not require medical attention.  She was charged with child abuse because a minor child was present during the incident.
