FPD Arrests Man Who Involved Children in Candy & Pop Burglary

FREMONT – The Fremont Police found themselves arresting a man and citing two children under the age of ten years old for participating in a low-dollar burglary this weekend after they were lead to do so by a family friend.

On Saturday just after 8PM, Joshua Z. Cheval, 21, of Fremont was arrested on suspicion of burglary after he was accused of breaking into a concession stand and stealing soft drinks and candy.   He was also charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor and Criminal Conspiracy after it was learned that two young boys, ages 6 and 9, were with Cheval at the time of the burglary and participated in it.  Those children were also cited for burglary and 1st degree criminal trespass, but released to their parents.  According to police, Cheval is an acquaintance of the children’s parents.

On Sunday 07/28/2019 at approximately 2:20AM Kristal A. Flores, 34, of Fremont was cited on suspicion of Reckless Driving and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident following a complaint at a residence in the 100 block of north C Street.

Flores is accused of operating a motor vehicle and striking a parked car and then leaving the scene.  A witness reported he tried to stop Flores and was nearly struck by her. Damage estimates to the cars involved are not available at this time.
