FPD Arrests Man After Days of Harassment, Violation of Protection Order

FREMONT – A Fremont citizen was harassed multiple times over the weekend by someone prohibited by law from contacting them – fortunately, Fremont Police caught up with the violator.

On Friday, Fremont Police responded to a protection order violation reported in the 200 block of North Lincoln Avenue. Nathanial M. Stover, 33 years old of Fremont, was identified on the property in violation of that legal order to stay away and have no contact with the resident. Stover also reportedly made harassing phone calls and threats against the holder of that protection order.

Officers say that although Stover was positively identified on the property, he could not be located at the time of their response. However, he continued his campaign of harassment and by the next day, police caught him in violation of that order once more. This time, Stover was arrested. He will face charges of terroristic threats, disturbing the peace, violation of a protection order and intimidation by phone.

Stover has a long history of violating the law. He is a registered sex offender, convicted in December 2006 of 3rd degree sexual assault of a child. He has also been convicted of three sex offender registration violations.
