First Monthly Luncheon at Fremont Opera House Honors First Responders

FREMONT – The Fremont Opera House held its first monthly luncheon today, bringing fellows from Opera Omaha to perform for members of the community.

Given that today is Patriot Day, the national day of memorial for those lost in the September 11th, 2001 terror attacks, the Opera House gave this inaugural luncheon in honor of our local first responders. Recognized in the crowd were members of the Fremont Police Department and the Fremont Fire Department.  Lauren Medici, Director of Engagements and Programs of Opera Omaha said that the opera performers were especially delighted to perform for such a community focused event:

Britta Tollefsrud, the Holland Community Opera Fellowship Manager, talked about how it feels to bring a performance to the Fremont Opera House, on 9-11, with local first responders present:

The Fremont Opera House intends to hold community luncheons monthly to bring entertainment to Fremont and promote the Opera Houses’ upcoming events of the season.  To find out more information, go to
