Early Morning Disturbance in Park Results in Arrest

FREMONT – The Fremont Police department responded to two major incidents in town yesterday.

At approximately 7:45 am, Fremont Police responded complaints from passing motorists near the John C. Fremont City Park, near 8th and Main Street, in reference to a belligerent man in the park. The subject was reportedly screaming at passersby and knocking down trashcans throughout the park.  Police responded, and had contact with 37 year old Cornell S. Preston of Fremont, who became uncooperative and verbally combative.

As a result, Preston  was arrested for disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct and consuming alcohol on public property.

Later in the day, Fremont Police responded to a report of a burglary from a storage unit in the 500 block of South Main Street. Items taken include an Ultra Fab 3500 watt generator and a tool box with numerous hand tools. Estimated loss is approximately $1,000.
