DUIs Cause Two Property Damage Incidents Over the Weekend

FREMONT – Two inebriated drivers caused damage to property this weekend when they lost control of their vehicles in the overnight Saturday-Sunday hours.

Both incidents occurred between 1AM and 2AM. First, just after 1AM, police arrested  Kaylee D. Klein, 24, of Fremont on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol following a collision and subsequent traffic stop in the 300 block of north Park Avenue. Klein was the operator of a motor vehicle that was involved in a single-car property damage accident.  She showed signs of impairment consistent with the consumption of alcoholic beverages and she was arrested. Police allege Klein backed her car into a building. No damage estimate is available.

Just half an hour later, police arrested Christian J. Arias, 22, of Omaha, NE on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol, following a traffic stop in the 400 block of east Military Avenue.  Arias was the operator of a motor vehicle that was allegedly involved in a hit and run property damage accident. When officers had contact with him, he showed signs of impairment consistent with the consumption of alcoholic beverages and he was arrested.  The car he was driving had front-end damage; however, officers were not able to determine what exactly he struck.

Also in police news this weekend:

Saturday night, Fremont Police had contact with Jeff L. Svoboda, 58, of Fremont, following a disturbance complaint at a residence in the 1100 block of east 4th Street.  Svoboda is accused of striking a female acquaintance at the residence.  The victim had minor injuries consistent with the attack described. She did not require medical attention at the time of police assessment.  Svoboda was arrested on suspicion of 3rd Degree Domestic Assault and taken into police custody.
