DUI & Disorderly Conduct Dominate Holiday Arrests & Citations

FREMONT – The midweek holiday may be responsible for an uptick in DUI and disorderly conduct citations and arrests spanning Tuesday night through the early morning hours of Thursday.

Wednesday July 4, 2018 just after midnight, Fremont Police conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of  north Broad. Kenneth A. Phares, 34, of Fremont was cited on suspicion of Driving while under the influence of Alcohol as a result of that stop.

Later on Wednesday, around 6:30PM, police responded to a disturbance in the 500 block of west South street. Brian G. Grover, 43, of Hooper, NE was arrested on suspicion of Disorderly Conduct.

As Wednesday the 4th crossed into the early hours of Thursday, police responded to a business in the 400 block of east 23rd street to assist store employees after a patron became unruly on the property. Around 12:30AM, Arop M. Ring, 22, of Fremont was arrested on suspicion of Disorderly Conduct following the disturbance.

About an hour later, police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle property damage report. At least one vehicle was involved in a collision in the 2000 block of east 20th street. Police investigated the circumstances of the crash, and Aldean S. Drieling, 68, of Fremont was arrested on suspicion of Driving under the influence of Alcohol as a result of that investigation.
