FREMONT – The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the culprit behind a high dollar robbery that saw the thieves pulling parts right off a big rig’s engine.
A Kenworth semi was parked at Bassett Truck & Trailer repair over the weekend, waiting for repairs. On Monday morning, employees arrived to discover that thieves had pulled several engine parts and the truck’s batteries out of the engine compartment.
Items taken include a fuel shutoff sensor valued at $200, an air cleaner housing valued at $1,000, and four commercial-use batteries, valued at $1,000. The total estimated loss is over $1,600.
