City News with Brian Newton and Bob Flittie: October 22

FREMONT – Brian Newton stopped in for his weekly visit with Bob Flittie to give us an update on some construction going on in the city.

Car and truck drivers by now are aware of the construction project at the Cloverly Road intersection just south of Fremont in Inglewood. It’s all part of “progress” as we move nearer the completion of the Costco Poultry Plant and eventual operation.  For an update on that Cloverly Intersection work, Bob Flittie spoke with Brian Newton, Fremont City Administrator on Monday:

And Brian also addressed the issue of the closure of the intersection of Luther Road and Morningside, which is forcing all traffic, and especially the truckers, to find alternate routes.

Newton said the City recommends the trucks either use the 23rd Street exit into Fremont then turning south on Bell Street; OR use Highway-30 and old Highway 275 coming in from the south. From the north, truckers should exit off 275 at 23rd Street, then go to Bell.

During their Monday visit, Brian Newton also provided an update on Fremont’s Solar Farm #2
