City Council to Discuss Mall Funding at Tuesday Meeting

FREMONT – Tuesday’s City Council meeting will have a big ticket item on the agenda: 500,000 dollars big.

The city council will be discussing the question of approving a request for a $500,000 forgivable loan request from the Fremont Mall. The mall intends to use these funds to renovate and modernize the mall, in hopes of attracting a national sporting goods retailer and other keystone stores.

Two review committees have already looked at the proposed project, with one committee recommending the city council deny the project and the other committee recommending approval. The full city council will wrestle with the issue Tuesday evening.

City Administrator Brian Newton will join Bob Flittie live at noon on Monday, April 23rd, when they’ll discuss this issue. Catch that live at noon on Big Dog 98.9 and 1340, or later on our Podcast page.
