FREMONT – Two incidents in Fremont caused thousands of dollars in loss after a burglary and a hit and run left two Fremont families without their property.
Wednesday afternoon, the Fremont Police responded to a burglary complaint, made at a residence in the 300 block of east 17th Street. The victim reported that someone entered his residence sometime between 12:20PM and 1:00PM. Entry appeared to have been made through a window at the back of the house. The Fremont Police Detective Bureau responded and evidence was collected at the scene. At least one witness described a suspect observed leaving the residence. No arrests have been made but the investigation is continuing. Reported stolen were various tools, pieces of jewelry and computer equipment. Total dollar loss of the stolen items is estimated at $1,000.00.
Late that evening, 7:00PM a hit and run was reported in the 700 block of east 12th Street. The victim reported his 2011 Dodge Ram pickup was parked on the street in front of his residence when it was apparently struck by another vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle left without providing any contact information. Damage to the victim’s pickup is estimated at $1,400.00.
