One Arrest After Robbery at Fremont US Bank Branch

FREMONT – The suspect in a Wednesday afternoon robbery has been apprehended.

Today at 3:39PM, Fremont Police Officers called to the U.S. Bank branch located at 210 East Military Avenue to investigate a robbery that had just occurred. No weapon was displayed during the crime. 

 The suspect was described to police as an older white male who walked with a limp and left the scene wearing red clothes.  

Officers began a search, and a short time later,  stopped a man in the 500 block of north I Street that matched the suspect’s description.

After a positive identification as the man who robbed the US Bank,  Leonard P. Lovell, 53, of Columbus, NE was arrested and charged with Robbery, a Class II Felony.

 Agencies cooperating in the investigation included the Fremont Police Department, The III CORPS Drug Task Force, the Nebraska State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

A suspect reportedly fled the scene wearing a red windbreaker with stripes. Fremont Police are reportedly searching downtown businesses for the suspect.
