FREMONT – After a lengthy process, Fremont Health and Methodist Health Systems are much closer to operating as one unified health system in Dodge County.
The Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a resolution to authorize Fremont Health to enter into an Affiliation Agreement with Nebraska Methodist Health System. Nebraska Methodist Health System will lease the current Fremont Health campus from Dodge County under a 50-year lease agreement, with a purchase option at 20 years, for $3.3 million annually.
The hospital will be officially unveiled as Methodist Fremont Health at a press conference, scheduled for Tuesday, July 24th at 2PM. “This guarantee’s Dodge county top notch health for many years to come,” according to Supervisor Rob George.

In another item, the Board of Supervisors approved an application by the Dodge County Ag Society for $40,000 in funds for improvements to the Dodge County Fairgrounds in Scribner. The entire improvement project will cost over $100,000 dollars, and will make much needed improvements to the public restrooms and other facilities.
The Dodge County Board of Supervisors also moved forward on an agreement with Motorola for the new Dodge County Radio System. This will be a 10 year agreement for 10 million dollars. The supervisors also approved a project manager for this undertaking, Ray Freeman. Freeman will oversee the many aspects of the Radio project, which requires some highly technical expertise, and will see the construction of four radio towers in the county.
