FREMONT – Bargain hunting booklovers rejoice! The annual Friends of the Keene Memorial Library book sale is this weekend at the Fremont City Auditorium.
“This will be our biggest year ever,” said Tina Walker, Keene Memorial Library director, “Last year was big, but we have a lot more books this year.”
Several estates donated collections of books in large quantities – 19 to 30 boxes each – and the library itself needed to weed through their own collection. With shelves at 100% capacity, the library decided to donate select titles from their children’s and nonfiction collections. “So, we’ll have estate books and former library books, in addition to all the books we normally have donated throughout the year.”
This year’s sale will again start with Thursday night’s special members-only presale event from 5PM to 7PM: those whose Friends of Keene Memorial Library dues are paid for 2018 can enter at no charge, and may renew their dues at the book sale, if necessary. If you want to join the FoKML, new members are welcome to join at the Book Sale: regular memberships are $10.00 annually and “Book Lover Sponsorships,” which include two regular memberships are $100. Those who do not wish to become a member of the Friends may enter for a donation of $10.00.
The book sale opens to the public on Friday, April 13th at 9AM.
