FREMONT – The Masonic Eastern Star Home for Children in Fremont has been providing a safe and loving environment for children in need for over 100 years.
The purpose of the Children’s Home is to provide quality care for children who have been separated from their homes due to Death, Divorce, Separation, Neglect, Abuse or Inability to adjust to their present living situation. Part of caring for a child is celebrating their achievements, and Saturday will be one such celebration.
“Saturday is our achievement day,” said Ron Giesselmann, Executive Director of the Masonic Eastern-Star Home. “Achievement day for us is the end of the road for this 4H year, and kids show off their 4H projects to friends and family who come visit.”
A new component this year at the Achievement Day will be Rich Ray’s Hat Sale. Members of the community and area businesses have donated hats to the effort, some signed by golf pros or from vintage businesses as far away as Alaska, and the hats will be sold during Saturday’s festivities. All proceeds from the hat sale will go towards the building of an Ag/Tech learning center on the Home’s Campus.
The public is invited to attend the Achievement Day this Saturday to enjoy a complimentary barbecue cook out, ride the mechanical bull and let the little ones enjoy the bounce house while supporting the youths at the Children’s Home. “We really make it a celebration,” Giesselmann said.
